Slideshows and Photo Gallery Critique

To find a photo gallery to critique I searched on the website Corbis Images and searched vermont snowboarding pictures. The bulk of the pictures were from the Burton U.S. Open in 2002 at Stratton Mountain. The other pictures were from different mountains around Vermont, there are even a few pictures of people skiing. I was surprised that there weren't more pictures of snowboarding, a lot of the pictures are just pictures of the U.S. open crowd and competitors. I think It would have been better with more pictures of people just riding or hitting jumps.

For the slideshows I started looking on the website Flickr.com and looked up snowboarding in the slideshow search engine. At first I found a few slideshows with without music and found some good ones with music in the background. what I didn't like about the website was how it was difficult to find the original link to the video, the video on Flickr.com was not the entire video. When I finally found the link to the full video it brought me to Vimeo.com another website I searched for slideshows. The video itself was well put together with music in the background to pictures of mountain life and snowboarding.

For the audio slideshow I searched on google and found a link to the Miami Herald website where they have a section of audio slideshows made as news stories. The store was about a theme park that has been made out of Pablo Escobar's deserted mansion property. The slideshow was interesting with shots of attractions around the island, but the person doing the voice over introduced himself as a reporter at the beginning so it didn't have a good beginning to lead me in. Besides that the slideshow was good it reminded me of something that would be done at news 7 as a voice over.
