To find a photo gallery to critique I searched on the website Corbis Images and searched vermont snowboarding pictures. The bulk of the pictures were from the Burton U.S. Open in 2002 at Stratton Mountain. The other pictures were from different mountains around Vermont, there are even a few pictures of people skiing. I was surprised that there weren't more pictures of snowboarding, a lot of the pictures are just pictures of the U.S. open crowd and competitors. I think It would have been better with more pictures of people just riding or hitting jumps.

For the slideshows I started looking on the website Flickr.com and looked up snowboarding in the slideshow search engine. At first I found a few slideshows with without music and found some good ones with music in the background. what I didn't like about the website was how it was difficult to find the original link to the video, the video on Flickr.com was not the entire video. When I finally found the link to the full video it brought me to Vimeo.com another website I searched for slideshows. The video itself was well put together with music in the background to pictures of mountain life and snowboarding.

For the audio slideshow I searched on google and found a link to the Miami Herald website where they have a section of audio slideshows made as news stories. The store was about a theme park that has been made out of Pablo Escobar's deserted mansion property. The slideshow was interesting with shots of attractions around the island, but the person doing the voice over introduced himself as a reporter at the beginning so it didn't have a good beginning to lead me in. Besides that the slideshow was good it reminded me of something that would be done at news 7 as a voice over.

Burke write up
Ryan Holmes talks to Kyle Gould about the snow conditions on Burke Mountain
Kyle Gould, currently a ski instructor at Burke Mountain and has been for the past four years, comments about the amount of snow on the mountain.
He says "This is the least amount of natural snow we have ever had...last year we had four feet of snow in the woods, but this year there is less then six inches..."
Gould, after explaining the process of how snow is made, talks about the number of trails that are open because trail crews are able to make snow on different trails where there is no natural snow.
Gould talked to people coming off the lifts and the people say that the conditions are nothing like last year.

Podcast idea Burke
My group of Ryan, Richie, Mike and me decided to interview people about Burke Mountain and the lack of snow we have gotten this season. We spoke with Kyle Gould a ski instructor at Burke, who says that the lack of snow is affecting the amount of lessons he has. We also plan to speak with Rebecca Bevington a skier/ snowboarder who enjoys going to thwe mountain on her free time.

Pimp my Blog
Im not really into blogs this is the first time I have ever used a blog website and I wasn't really sure what to do with it so I kept it pretty basic. I changed the background and chose a template that I liked and I chose a font that looked good and chose colors that would go well with my background.

Critique: three podcasts
The first Podcast that I decided to subscribe to was for the show "Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia" I became interested in their podcast after an episode in season six where two characters Dennis and Dee start their own podcast. In the episode they satire the trend of podcasts that is becoming very popular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LA7AFfc6Ck this is the link to one of the podcasts from their show which is pretty funny with the way they handle their podcast. Along with their podcast that aired on the show they also have extras that did not make it on air. Another podcast I subscribes to is the "Afterbuzz TV AfterShow for Its always sunny in Philadelphia" which is a good podcast that has the actors/ creators of the show talking about the show and situations the characters get themselves into. The other podcasts that I looked up, one was for my favorite band "The disco biscuits but their iTunes podcast only had one post that didn't play on my computer so I had to look elsewhere for a good Podcast. I was searching for a podcast of a funny comedian that I like and found doug Benson's podcast where he talks about movies that he loves with other comedians and actors. That podcast was hard to access but on iTunes I found another Podcast called comedy Bang Bang which interviews many different actors and comedians about all different topics some which were interesting and some were just silly and not worth listening too.
